Harbor from the Storm

Kaelon · 2026

Verse 1
The harbor bell broke in the storm
Its bronze mouth filled with rain
Our lanterns sank beneath the foam
And took the maps away
The gate that kept the black tide out
Was timber, rope, and prayer
Now salt runs through the empty town
And no one waits there

Pre-Chorus
I held the key until it cut
A crescent in my hand
But grief is not a door that shuts
At anyone's command

Chorus
Safe harbor, gone beneath the water
I call your name through every ruined wall
The sea took home the roofs and fires
And left this heart too small to hold it all
Still, somewhere past the broken weather
A pale gold morning gathers on the shore
If I can lift one wounded lantern
I may become a beacon once more

Verse 2
The orchard leans toward bitter wind
Its branches stripped and bare
A child has drawn our old blue bridge
In charcoal on the stairs
I carry cups we cannot fill
Two blankets, thread, and bread
The things that make a life seem real
When all the songs are dead

Pre-Chorus
I feared the dark would eat the road
And every name I knew
But footsteps sound beside my own
And one belongs to you

Chorus
Safe harbor, gone beneath the water
I call your name through every ruined wall
The sea took home the roofs and fires
And left this heart too small to hold it all
Still, somewhere past the broken weather
A pale gold morning gathers on the shore
If I can lift one wounded lantern
I may become a beacon once more

Bridge
No crown, no spell, no ancient flame
Can mend what time has torn
But hands can build a pier again
And welcome in the dawn
We'll mark the stones with every loss
We'll plant where ashes lie
And teach the frightened, wandering hearts
A different way to rise

Final Chorus
Safe harbor, gone beneath the water
Your absence is a tide inside us all
Yet from the wreckage, plank by plank
We raise a door no storm can ever call
And somewhere past the broken weather
The first clear star is waking on the shore
I lift this small and wounded lantern
And find a thousand lights beside it once more

Outro
The bell is gone, the tide has turned
The road is dark, but warm
We walk toward dawn with open hands
And build a harbor from the storm
